When humanity is driven far from the waters that now swallow more than eighty percent of Earth's surface, communications are cut between nations and continents as a mysterious and powerful fleet of seemingly rebuilt WW2 warships called the "Fleet of Fog" take control of the world's oceans, destroying those that try to cross the now deadly waters.

Ashley is alone when she finds herself completely severed from her family back in America, traveling around Europe when a coordinated attack between the remaining naval fleets of the world is easily repelled in an unforgiving counterattack by the "Fleet of Fog", destroying almost all of humanity's remaining warships. She knows that crossing the Atlantic is her only way of going back home, but when the attempt severely goes awry, Ashley is helped by a very unlikely ally: a heavy cruiser of the "Fleet of Fog".

Suddenly stranded as the only human on a warship capable of thinking for itself, she has no choice but to put her life in its proverbial hands.
