The gods are real.
Yes, gods. Plural. The myths and legends are true; a part of everyday life. Doesn't matter what culture: Greek, Roman, Norse, Aztec... They live among and above us.
Here's the kicker: mortals can become gods. It's rare for the situation to occur and it's only if the mortal chosen can survive training. As well as other circumstances...
I never thought it could happen to me. I was chosen. Me, the girl who could barely hold a conversation was called upon to become a god. As I am transported into a world no mortal could ever imagine, a sinister plot is revealed to all:
Hell is raising.
I'm going to need all the help I can get to hold on to my life. But I never thought help would come from the darkest of all places

Long ago, 4 gods ruled over humanity since their beginning, but after growing bored, they decided to play a game with humanity. Dividing their power into 52 cards that give humans a part of their power, the gods then disappeared leaving behind a prophecy that said one card wielder would rule over them. The rest of humanity then began hunting down the 52 card users with extreme violence, but since a card would randomly pass to another person in the world, they began imprisoning them. Years past, now in modern-day, a boy hurt and scared because of the hunt for the card wielders, blames the gods and so the Devil bestowed upon him their card. Now in the modern era or technology is catching up to the ideologies and powers of the gods, there is now schools all around the world to teach these kids how to hone their powers so they are not consumed and in the end destroyed by the very power they were cursed to be born with. The God Who laid the curse is the god who can remove it and this God is unknown, but this God is very resentful of humanity and has not ever shown their face. it is believed he is malevolent and now the gods have taken upon themselves to train these children personally to protect all life respectively in what is known as Divine Academy?
