1812 the time of the battle of Waterloo, and the time when Lady Victoria Penhelm was far too busy with flirting and giving up the hopes of many young boys to marry. After having her first season through, Victoria still is not married to anyone. Concerend, her father the Earl of Manford takes up his friend, The Duke of Brussels's offer for his son to marry Victoria. Annoyed with the fact that Victoria cannot chose her own husband, she sets it upon her mind that she will forever hate the Duke's son.

As for the Duke's son, his only reason for marrying Victoria is so he can stay in the army. And to he, this arranged marriage works in all favors. His father gets another heir, Victoria gets a better status, her father is even more respected and he gets to stay in the army and battle Napoleon.

Victoria on the other hand is repulsed at the thought of having to bear an heir to the man she does not know, nor love. And yet another thing pops up that was never in the arranged marriage contract, her having to go to France with the Duke's son in the midst of the this battle to take over the French court and turn Napoleon's own goverment against him.

And so their adventure begins, with the overtaking of the French goverment and temptations here and there for both of them. The question is, is the temptaition for one another, or the chance to become someone else?

Iris Theren has grown up in a small town near the Niam River her entire life. Composed of under 200 people, you'd think residents would know who she was, but her parents have made that impossible, going so far as to not even report her birth when it occurred twenty-three years ago. Cetus and Cassiopeia Theren at one point imagined themselves to be esteemed members of the court, but they overheard whispered questions regarding their loyalties to the crown. Thus, they left Remalna-city years before Iris was born. Their resentment and dislike of the Renselaeus family traveled with them. In their minds, it was the Renselaeuses who caused their fall from "grace" and "good-standing." Only a minor detail that no one truly liked them in the first place. From the moment they left Remalna-city--from the moment Vidanric Renselaeus ascended to the throne with his wife, Meliara Astiar, at his side--they quietly plotted their revenge. Alaraec Renselaeus, firstborn of Mel and Danric and crown prince of Remalna, has now seen twenty-four name days. The exact year the prince is traditionally determined to be old enough to take up some of his royal duties...including finding a potential bride. And thus Cetus and Cassie perceive the moment to strike has finally arrived. NOTE: The setting, history, a couple of the characters, and some of the concepts in this particular story are inspired by Sherwood Smith's novels Crown Duel and Court Duel. One Day More (working title) occurs twenty-five years AFTER the conclusion of Court Duel, basically an alternate future outside of Smith's Remalna's Children novellas.

Two extremely rich and powerful houses set to be united as one in marriage in six months time. Josephine Langford is as stubborn as a bull and no one can make her change her mind about something she doesn't believe herself, so when her parents told her about being betrothed to another powerful family's heir, she throws a fit and demands that the arrangement be called off. Her parents' refusal to cancel the wedding forces her to take extreme measures. She knows this marriage isn't about love but all about fortifying their family's wealth. She detested this part of her charmed life. Somehow, she needs to find a way to put an end to this medieval arrangement between the Langfords and the Fiennes. She's an extremely private person and with the help of their family's wealth and connections, barely any picture of her and her identity has ever landed in the internet and publications. This gives her the idea to get the full dirt on this Hero Fiennes-Tiffin she is set to marry without him knowing that he is actually put under a microscope. As far as her research goes, the guy is nothing but a ruthless tycoon by day and a complete player by night but she isn't one to judge a person by what the internet or newspapers and magazines say-those can easily be fabricated-whereas if she gets to see firsthand who this guy really is and what possible proofs she can gather to convince her parents to cancel the engagement, it would be the best and really the only option she has. Two months. She has two months to get to know the guy before their wedding is announced to the whole world. Two months of pretension and deception. Two months and she'll finally be free of this madness.
