Author's Note:
Hi! My name is Jamia, I'm 20 years old. I actually started writing this book when I was 16, but never finished it. I recently found my old draft, decided to rewrite, re-edit, and hope for the best! I honestly don't remember exactly what inspired this story back then, but I always imagined it as a three-part series. I might end it here... or, if you guys really enjoy it, I'll keep it going and just vibe with it like I've been doing. This is my first book - *This how I'm coming*. I really hope you enjoy!
And I also just want y'all to know that I plan on posting at least six chapters a day because the book is basically done. I'm just working on edits and I'm halfway done with the edits and there's 66+ chapters soooo I will be posting like six chapters a day.
A talented boy from the roughest part of town earns a scholarship to a prestigious, predominantly white high school, where he's thrust into a world of privilege, pressure, and cultural clashes. Paired with the no-nonsense "boogie" black girl for a school project, he's initially put off by her sharp wit and unapologetic confidence. But as they work together, he discovers there's more to her than meets the eye-her passion for life, fierce independence, and determination to break free from expectations even when her adoptive parents are morbidly controlling and mentally abusive. Over time, their unlikely bond blossoms into an undeniable romance, and with her by his side, he finds the strength to confront the challenges of balancing two worlds, all while striving to fulfill his basketball dreams. But it's not just his game that gets a makeover-his perspective on life, love, and self-worth is completely transformed.
