Vance Johnson didn't expect to be saved by Death just moments before being paired with him on Magix, an app that takes the world by storm by pairing a FairFolk and human. Neither of them wants anything to do with each other but when Vance's rival and rising pop star, James Parker comes into town, they strike a bargain: Death agrees to help Vance destroy James' career in return for anything Death asks. Perhaps all those flaming sparks of hatred between Vance and James could be something else but would Vance risk it to meet his goals? After all, playing with Death might not be the wisest choice of all.
