She was new. Her white button-up untucked under her navy blue school cardigan, her uniform stockings a size too small. 
No one would take a second glance, but he was mesmerized. Hooked, even.

She walked onto the public transport system taking no glances, and she sat down on the opposite end of the train with her gaze fixed out the window. She drummed her fingers along her lap, supposedly to the beat ringing through her earbuds. He wondered what she was listening to.

Even with his sharp, intense gaze on her, she was completely and utterly unaware.
