Maya wants to become a detective, but there is a problem...She is a woman and this is 1878
Dr. Chinew's first night in his new house is disturbed by a break-in. The intruder steals nothing but leaves behind a message - Death Comes to All.
Maya maintains she is not crazy, only different. Henry Camleman, the chief of Bombay Detective Agency, disagrees. He cannot think of any other reason why a (as far as he knew) reputable 21 year old woman would want to become a detective in his agency. Solving crimes in Cardim, a city teeming with crime and criminals, is fraught with danger and involves dealing with the kind of people he wouldn't imagine a woman mingling with in a thousand years. To humor the stubborn woman, however, he gives her a fairly harmless domestic case. A celebrated spiritualist claims that there are spirits in his house and Camleman wants Maya to prove otherwise. He hopes the case would keep Maya indulged in a puzzle of ghosts and spirits while keeping her safe from the grime of actual crimes.
Little does Camleman know the true extent of the affair.
As Maya delves deeper into the mystery, it takes her little time to uncover a web of theft, deceit, betrayal and murder which would test the skills and perseverance of the amateur detective to the fore. Will she pass the first exam of her professional career?

"The game, Mrs Hudson, is on!" ~~~ "Tax- ugh." Sherlock says getting cut off as another body runs into him, the other person falling to the ground. "Sorry." A female voice says as she sits up. "I'm so sorry, this was my fault, I was rushing to work." She rants dusting herself off and combing the nonexistent leaves out of her long golden blonde hair. "I just-" She trails off when she finally looks up and gets a look at the person she ran into. "Hi." She breathes out smiling lightly. She was instantly drawn in by his crystal clear blue eyes that left her feeling breathless. "Hey," Sherlock replies quietly also getting lost in her blue eyes. He was just as much in awe of her and she was to him. Suddenly, he clears his throat and they both look away. "My apologies, I, um, I wasn't looking where I was going. Sherlock Holmes." He introduces holding out his hand to help her up. "Katherine, uh Kat. Kat Moore." She stutters out and takes his hand and he pulls her up so they are standing face to face. The two continue to stare at each other while holding hands until John comes limping out of the flat snapping them back into reality and breaking them up. They pull apart quickly as if hoping John didn't see their interaction. "Maybe I'll see you around?" Sherlock says as a taxi pulls up for Kat. Kat reaches out and opens the cab door. "Maybe you will." She smirks lightly and gets into the taxi. ~~~ BOOK 1 in the Katlock Series BBC Sherlock Season 1 Please vote and comment!! Hey there folks, I'm Cody Phillips, welcome to New Orleans. N'awlins is known for many wonderful things, our coffee, music and the ability to throw a damn fine party. We're also known as the city most people believe may be one of the most haunted places in the world. Well, let me tell you this, we have more than our fair share. I know because I can see them. But, listen, don't spread that around. Yeah? It's been a closely guarded family secret my whole life. Not even my best friend knows this about me. See, I use my 'gift' in my work as a homicide detective with NOLA's finest boys in blue. Now, I understand why you might call it cheating, and that's fine. But I always catch the bad guy with the victim telling me everything I need to know and give the family involved closer. So it evens out as far as I can tell. Now just as my life is moving slower than a gator with a full belly, the worst happens. I get the call about a homicide that's hit too close to home. It leaves the girl of my dreams coming home to face tragedy. The moment I see her I find myself reminded of the one secret no one ever knew. Ever since I was eight years old I have felt many different things for Emma O'Neal, and those feelings haven't disappeared with time. Problem is now that she's come home; I find myself fighting not only an unknown assailant out for blood, my partner's misguided beliefs but my own need for the enticing beauty I'm duty sworn to protect. Damn, I just hope I'm able to fight the feelings I have for this woman, and stay focused on the case. Otherwise, I might end up losing something far more precious to me than the honor I've worked so hard for: Emma's life.

Charley Beckett-perfectly sane, normal, Charley Beckett-counts everything. Years since her parents' unsolved murder: fifteen. Bodies she's found dead: three. Puncture wounds on each of their throats: two. People who believe her when she says vampires are to blame: zero. Since her parents' murder, she's tried to get past her hallucinations, PTSD, and her reputation as the little red-haired girl police found screaming about monsters that didn't-surely, couldn't-exist. But there's this story-conspiracy theory-swirling around her small town that says her father was part of a secret government experiment, one that would prove vampires weren't legends at all. And Charley can't move on. Especially when she stumbles upon a dead girl with the same bloody puncture wounds as her parents-and someone follows her home. Left with no one who believes her, Charley breaks into the abandoned facility where her father once worked, desperate to find the truth. But she's not the only one after answers. Victor, a handsome vampire, is there to convince her that not only is she perfectly sane, but he's the only one that can save her from those who seek to abuse her connection to the government's experiments. However, when Victor knows details about her parents' death that only the murderer could, Charley will need to learn to trust herself, no matter how crazy her thoughts may seem. If she doesn't, she'll go from counting bodies to counting her last heartbeats...one...two...three...nothing. "Maybe someone heard my screams or maybe the reaper wears combat boots..."

The world's only consulting detective, an ex-army doctor, an art therapist, and an American who loves music. These sound like four very different people, right? Definitely. Em isn't quite sure what she expects to deal with when she decides to leave her home in the US to go and live with her half-sister (Athena) all the way over in London at the address of 221C Baker Street. Being woken up from trying to sleep off her red-eye flight jet lag by all the ruckus being made by her and her sister's new 221B neighbor was not something she wanted to have to deal with right away. However, she storms up the stairs and gives Mister Sherlock Holmes a piece of her mind. How does he respond? What happens when the landlady (Mrs Hudson) suggests Sherlock look for a new flatmate in order to make paying the rent a bit easier on himself? And how does Em and Athena's dynamic with Sherlock change when Doctor John Watson walks into their lives? Something dark and eerie lurks in the shadows, watching our team of four mystery solvers take the world of crime solving by storm.
