16 year old Elliot Hope has lived a life that nobody should live. He was locked in a basement for years until he was saved by an everyday detective. Elliot's life get's turned upside down as he tries to figure out how to live his life for himself, instead of for anyone else. The thing is, he doesn't talk. The only time he speaks is when he's forced to. 
16 year old Alena James has had an easy life. She's never had her heart broken, has two loving parents, and excells at art school, but when her father takes in Elliot Hope, Alena starts to learn that not everybody's life as easy as hers.
