Before coming to Miss Peregrine's loop, Enoch O'Connor was chosen to be a peculiar ward in Swansea with another ymbryne named Miss Nightjar. She whisks him away from his home in London, hoping that his peculiarity will help undo one of her most fatal mistakes and protect the rest of her loop from future dangers. However, what was supposed to be a quick resurrection, blossoms into two thirteen-year old peculiars trying to solve a murder case.
