One day Celebi returned to the forest she call home, only to find a dead baby at the foot of her shrine. Taking pity of the child's fate, Celebi go back in time to save the child before she could meet her end. She called the girl Paradox and raised her as her own daughter.

Sixteen years have passed since then and Paradox is getting ready to finally leave Ilex Forest behind in search of her best friend and crush she hasn't seen in two years, Maple the Vulpix.
