'I'm 'very different'. I have never lived in a world before The Dogs.' In a dystopian New Zealand, a young boy named Sam travels with his two guardians in search of any scraps of civilization left that has not been ravaged by the Dogs. But Sam questions whether he wants to find this civilization at all - he, unlike Rudie and Elijah, is content to live alongside nature and without these seemingly unnecessary things that his older guardians seem to pine for. A short and sweet stream of consciousness piece, that deals with childhood innocence, generational regret, capitalism and the beauty of nature. +3RD PLACE IN 2020 BEDFORD INTERNATIONAL WRITING COMPETITION+
