Kaida is the last of the draconian Fae, her childhood village massacred by the Queen of Pavalea and her army. Now she is the Queen's weapon and entertainer, performing her fire summoning skills for the royals of the court and the surrounding kingdoms to demonstrate Pavalea's greatest weapon: herself. Kaida's anger towards the Queen has always been shoved deep down, for fear that if she were to act upon it the Queen would surely kill her. But Kaida snaps when she witnesses the Queen cleave the wings from one of the enslaved Fae within the Iron Palace. Kaida attempts to escape and the ruthless Queen shows no mercy, cutting off Kaida's wings as punishment for her actions. Kaida is now out for revenge. For her people. For her family. For herself.
