December 2nd 1939 and 17 year old Gerard Way is trying to hold back his tears as his mother bundles him onto the train at their local station equipped with his small bag of belongings, gas mask and a couple of sandwiches on the way. The majority of his friends had either already been sent off to war or been evacuated to the country side a couple of months ago. Every child on the train was sad. Every child on the train was worried. And every child was never sure if they would feel love as strong as their parents again.

Frank Iero never felt like he belonged-not with his so-called friends, not in his broken home, and definitely not in the cold, candle-lit walls of the church his mother forced him into. Rebellious, reckless, and drowning in self-destruction, he doesn't believe in redemption. But Gerard Way does. At 24, he's devoted his life to God, preparing for priesthood while guiding a local youth group. When Frank is pushed into his orbit, neither of them expects the quiet pull between them-one that feels as dangerous as it is inevitable. Faith, sin, and desire blur together in a story about longing, guilt, and the things we aren't supposed to want. WARNINGS: Age gap, religion, smut, drug and alcohol abuse, mental health, homophobia.
