In a world where deities and spirits still meddle with mortal life, an immortal demigod has to save himself from being beheaded as a cult's sacrifice to their goddess. 

It's easier said than done with the cult in question constantly breathing down his neck at ever turn. In a sprawling metropolitan city where the cult of the Scions of the Scorcher reigns unchecked, all-powerful and omnipresent, escape seems impossible without a little divine intervention. 

And for a demigod like Ace, divine intervention would be the last thing he'd ever want, dead or alive.
