Overview:
Divinely cursed and kidnapped by a pirate, Anubia is thrown into a mysterious journey - gods, magic, lust, and ancient monsters await on the seas of Erothenia.

Story Sample:
"Seven hundred years, almost," Anubia said.
"Seven hundred years... Have you been alone all this time?" I asked.
She tried her best to hide it, but I could see her swallow, trying to force the tears back and retain her composure. I watched as her eyes began to glisten, sparkling in the movement of the waves and the pale moonlight. She really was beautiful, glowing in the dim light, her eyes pulled down in the weight of her sadness.
...
"Yes." My voice was barely a whisper when I answered him, the weight of my despair crawling on my back, dragging itself over my shoulders and resting there, perched and insatiable as always. I had spent centuries trying to learn how to live with my fate... it never got any easier, all this time later. I could read all the philosophy I wanted, distract myself with art and poetry and any other worldly pleasure I could find in this vast beauty of a world we had created... but as dusk came every day I was still the same: unchanged, unaged, a fallen goddess whose wings had been ripped from her and replaced with scales... a monster.

Of all the blades and bullets in the world, nothing cuts like a song. Whispers on the wind that burrow deep into the heart of any man with ears and often from the mouths of others. Merchants with eyes for gold and gilding hearing of pearls and drops of sun. Sailors with hands for nets hearing of waters like glass full of creatures unknown. Even scholars, who've lived for little else but maps, parchment, and pages Soaked with ink, turn to the world for more than knowledge, or satins, silks, or spices. Lured by a tune like a fish to a hook, hungry for a dream. But what if that dream comes at a cost more hefty than coin? What if the price cuts as deep as the song, And soaks your hands redder than the ledger you're desperate to fill. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Since the first siren sighting, people have told tales of their dangers, warning Sailors to be wary of their bewitching songs, lest they lead them early to a dark Watery grave. Only a fool would leave his ears open to a Sirens song, or so many have been told, until Whispers of magic stranger and more enticing came, rumors of miracles and medicine made possible if you were brave enough to face the seas to claim a Sirens scales. Since the rising tide of such tales, the seas became far quieter, as rich choruses of song were sharply silenced, and the ocean itself became even more vicious with fury at its children being hunted. Hunted by Scholars thirsty for forbidden wisdom. Hunted by merchants greedy for more bloodstained wealth. Hunted by soldiers, clad in royal colors, setting out by the thousands to collect for their king. A queen cries out to the ocean for help. For a hero to save her children. And the ocean sends no hero. The ocean sends pirates. The ocean sends those who once fled from the sound of Sirens songs, now singing choruses of their own, brandishing scales of silver and steel, hungering for things greater than gold. They want glory. They want blood. They want revenge. They want a kings head.

"Well, what do we have 'ere?" A hoarse voice stated above me, making my eyes glaze upward in the direction of the culprit, only to freeze at the icy, crystallized irises of the owner. There, above me, was the man I saved, looking insanely at me with crazed eyes and a mocking tone. His hair was stuck on his forehead and the smudged eyeliner created a trace of dark lining on his face, making him look hauntingly. The man gazed at my form in amazement and wonder before they captured mine again, sending an icy cold sensation coursing through my vein, making me shiver. He was frightening and breathtaking at the same time. "A mermaid, aye?" he questioned as his gaze trailed down the length of my body. Grabbing my arms with one hand, he caressed my face gently, his thumb grazing my parted lips before they went below my hair twirling a single piece. I struggled from underneath him when he let the hair graze my breast underneath my blackened hair. Grinning at me madly, my eyes narrowed distastefully as his hand touched my crimson scales, stroking the tail almost lovingly. "Is this how you repay your saviour, pirate?"
