What if soulmates existed, but not in the way we think they do? What if, some forces are so powerful, that even having the person you're destined to be with in close proximity caused disastrous consequences simply because you've never looked them in the eyes, or touched their skin? What if it caused one of you physical pain being so close to them without realising they were even there?

Madeleine Melling has always struggled with the concept of love in general. She shouldn't - her parents have always been so very indiscreetly besotted with one another, and she always thought it would eventually rub off on her. But it just hasn't. She has relationships, one after the other, and one-by-one they leave her for her incapability at showing any kind of devotion. She does, however, have a strong passion for her work - spending hours in her private studio fashioning pottery and mosaics.
