Cast from the home they've known their whole lives by Aiden's last attempt to protect them, Kody carries with him the burden of grief from losing his father. Lumine, on the other hand, struggles with the need to be useful to his one and only friend and develops a habit for self-sacrifice.

But with it, comes anger from Kody and the kickoff of a new, foreign power neither of them can name. While searching for answers, running away from the enemy chasing them, and fighting against several obstacles, Kody notices a change in himself that centers around Lumine.

It thrums, below, whispering and edging the seams of his mind, and after an encounter with a stranger, Lumine's own power offsets into the tangible future they are both bound within.

Change is imminent, and neither are sure they are ready for it.
