Mi'anna is the healer of the Great Forest born from the Life Pool by the All Mother, or so she is told. She thinks she knows who she is, but dark forces show her that she doesn't know everything about herself. With the aid of those she holds dear, she'll protect her home.

Haven ( Book one )

The Winged

Winter
For as long as anyone could remember, nymphs have remained safely hidden from their human neighbours. Residing in the depths of the forest, Winter knows to never venture too close towards the edge of the woods. However, she is different from the other nymphs, and they don't accept her. In an attempt to find temporary sanctuary away from her kind, she stumbles across a mysterious, and possibly dangerous, man. She knows it isn't smart to be near, let alone interact with this man, but she just can't seem to stay away... "You're going to have to pick a better hiding spot than that if you don't want to be seen, little one."
The Edge
I tried to look away, but before I could, his hand reached out, his fingers brushing against my skin as he gently lifted my chin. The touch was soft, but the way he held me in place was anything but gentle. "Do not take my cooperation as weakness, little lamb," he warned, his voice thick with something darker, something dangerous. His gaze bore into mine with an unyielding force, as if daring me to challenge him. I felt the tension coil in my body, and with a sharp, instinctive movement, I smacked his hand away, my pulse quickening, my breath uneven. "Touch me again, and this 'little lamb' will bite your fingers off," I shot back, my voice low and daring, laced with a fire I hadn't meant to show. His lips curled into a dark chuckle, the sound rich and slow, like honey dripping from his tongue. "If you were anyone else," he said dismissively, his gaze trailing over me with casual disregard, "you would have already been dead." ********** For generations, Maeli's people have been trapped within a never-ending forest, bound to a secluded clearing that no one can enter or escape. The Blade and The Bird
She'd spent many years playing in this forest as a child. While Selene had enjoyed her novels in the warmth of the house, a blanket wrapped around her narrow shoulders, Sidra always came home covered in mud and scrapes from hours out in the wilderness. She'd take an axe out into the forest and pretend to fight off monsters, the terrifying Mystics that her grandmother had told her stories about. She'd pretend to fight Lycans, knocking out their massive teeth one by one. She'd stand atop rocks and throw her axe at the trees, pretending they were wood nymphs come to steal her away. She'd always return home and tell Selene about the monsters she'd fought that day, spinning together a story of courage and bravery for her little sister. She felt that pain in her heart again as she thought of those times. Through the years, she'd stop going into the woods to play, and she'd instead find stories for Selene. Books of all sizes and shapes, no matter the content, because it made her feel close to her sister just as she had before her parents died. She thought of her family now, how she was all alone.
