On your 10th birthday, the first words your soulmate speaks to you appear somewhere on your skin. Louis didn't really care. Harry loved love. Louis and Harry were soulmates. The only problem? Louis didn't realize. An awkward dining hall encounter leads Louis to believe Eleanor is his soulmate. When he crashed into Harry on the way out he's too trapped in his own world to notice the boy's first word to him. Louis wants nothing more than to befriend Harry, but doesn't know why. Harry wants Louis to realize his mistake but doesn't want to rush him. Will Louis ever realize that his new best friend doubles as his soulmate?

"You're still seeing in black and white?" Liam said, no longer beating around the bush. "Yeah, but maybe there's some kind of problem, you know?" "The problem is that you're still with Eleanor even though you know she sees colors." "But maybe there's just a problem with me and I'm never going to be able to see colors and she is my soulmate. Maybe there's just something wrong with me." I tried to argue but we both know that that's not true. Soulmates and colors are almost an exact science, there can't be anything wrong. The colors don't make mistakes. "Do you see colors with Eleanor?" He asked, already knowing the answer. "No..." I answered after thinking about it for a second. I don't know why I thought about it. It never changed. "Then she's not your soulmate." He said matter-of-factly. "Okay, then who the hell is? Who's my soulmate and why haven't I met her already?"
