It’s quite early in the night but this small city is as silent as midnight. Not a single person visible on the streets. Only the streets light were illuminating the roads. Everybody seems have locked themselves in the house and waiting for something worse. Suddenly a silhouette came out running from a semi dark lane. A person came into view as it crossed the street light, wearing a pair of jeans and a jacket. Jacket hood covered the head and face. The person is running towards the market place situated at the center of the city, occasionally looking back to check if someone is following.
The market place is full of angry crowds and the police team. A car is burning at a side. This person stopped at the opposite pavement of this chaos for a moment then pace fast towards the crowds and lost within them.

The Mute Girl

But to my surprise, the car swerves to the side slightly next to me and comes to a stop. I take a deep breath I didn't know I was holding at the driver's side door swings open and a very pissed off Axel steps out. "Thank god," I mumble and place my hands on my knees to catch my breath. "Blaze?" He says and I hate it. I hate how he says my name as if it's his. Like he knows it's the only thing I want to hear, him calling out to me, looking at me, focused to me. It's the first time in my life I wanted someone's attention so badly I didn't care how I got it. And that was too dangerous for me to hold onto. "Are you insane or some shit? I could have killed you!" He says and starts to walk towards me. I take a big breath and step back away from him, "s-stop! Axel," I stutter still panting. It's then he notices the blood on my hands and shirt. "Is that blood?" He asks staring at my shirt and I take another step back. "Stop, stay b-back," I try to say confidently but I can't even breath right. Realizing he won't listen I start to turn around planning to make a break for it. We came to a stop in front of what looked to be a farm house of some sort? Probably a slaughter house, this is where my life ends. He got out of his car without making a sound and opened my door. "Get out" He said calmly. "W-where are we?" "Get out of the car." he said in a harsher tone. What the hell did I get myself into. The car drove recklessly, almost as if no one was driving it. A deranged man screamed as he spun the wheel, making turn after turn, not knowing himself where he was going. He had just kidnapped his wife and was taking her to her deathbed. Or to better say, the place where he thought she should die; and in this man's mind, it was together with him. What she didn't know was that someone was already following them. A black motorcycle drove a few cars behind them. The young man on the vehicle started the back of the car determinately as he got closer and closer, his black, leather jacket moving around furiously because of the strong wind as he swiftly overcame all the cars in front of him. "Jungkook, turn right on the next intersection." This story is a bit of an experiment. It's like a prologue to an idea I had for a while so hope you like it. It was a normal day before everything went up in flames. A nature research facility exploded, covering the town in a thick cloud of purple smoke, turning every bug and insect into giant mutants out for blood. People ran every which way as the world we once knew went down in flames. Blood filled the streets as the ones left only watched in horror as their loved ones got eaten alive. Five groups of survivors-that's all that was left of the once overflowing town. The new Humanity group, the new government and law enforcers. They kill the mutants and go outside the gates to collect stuff from the outside world. Then there are the Traders; they buy stuff from the Scavengers, trading it with the other groups for other goods. If you want something, ask them and they will get it for you, but only for the right price. They try and build a semi-normal life. But will the survivor ever restore the humanity of their beloved town? Or will this fragile new order be built on the same vicious power structures that defined the old world, the one that was controlled by the mafia? When the legendary assassin, The Red Serpent, re-emerges from the shadows, their presence threatens to shatter the peace. "Who are you?" I asked, still left in the shock and scared state that came over me when gunshots were heard. I look up to his face which was hidden behind a dark shadow and bit my lips as silence fell between us. "Who I am is none of your business," he said in a cold, husky voice that somehow caused me to shiver. A frown made it's way onto my face as I looked at the mysterious man who refused to tell me who he is. He stood tall in front of me as we fell into silence again but only for a few seconds before he began to slowly move towards me. His face slowly being exposed to the light, giving me a glimpse of his icy grey eyes. "let's go" he spoke again before turning around.
