"Run!" The last thing Aldric's father ever said to him and it seems he has never stopped. Predators from a faraway world rampage across his home planet, Atarikka. People are being savaged and a traitor is to blame. Thirteen year old Aldric and his three new comrades adventure across the worlds of the Kalanian Galaxy. Their aim: to get home and stop the force of Incursio, a madman who will do anything in order to survive. Aldric never thought his life could get any more crazy until he is bestowed the title, responsibilities and power of the Crystal Guardian, the one expected to lead everyone to war. Approx. 78000 words Also available for download at Smashwords (www.smashwords.com/books/view/929789 Background: When I was 12, I started reading a book that alludes me now, but I would love to remember what it was! There was a boy, in a cave...crystals were involved...it inspired me to start writing Crystal Guardian (then called Space Pirates - changed to avoid comparison to the children's show!) I'm a slow writer...I stop and start, and reedit. This novel looks nothing like the Space Pirates it came from! I didn't finish until I was 19. Before I started university to study writing...so it is flawed, but I look back on it fondly. Probably heavily inspired by Star Wars...oops.
