In the aftermath of Thanksgiving 2013, Abby Lee Miller encounters Scott, a 12 year old boy who has been orphaned due to a car accident on that morning. Despite her tough exterior, Abby is moved by Scott's story and his striking features - long brown hair and gray eyes. She invites him to spend the holiday season with her and the ALDC family. As Scott integrates into the dance studio, he forms strong bonds with the girls and their mothers. Abby, known for her strict teaching methods, shows a softer side as she helps Scott navigate his grief and find happiness through dance. The story culminates on New Year's Eve, where Scott, now a part of the ALDC family, celebrates a new beginning with the people who have become his support system. (Takes place after Big Trouble in the Big Apple but without the Abby-Kelly clash which means that Brooke and Paige are still on the team)
