We Dream at Midnight (Ember 2)
Here she is. I can see the slope of her spine through that thin shirt. She's made of angles I ache to smooth with a hand, but I'd use my lips if she asked. I brush her knuckles with mine. Her skin is cold, but she flips her palm for more contact. I lace our fingers. It's enough to make her look at me. As those kaleidoscopic eyes meet mine, I hold my breath. Then she sets her lips just under my jaw. It rips the air from my lungs. It's the softest thing I've ever felt. "What was that for," I breathe. "I'm a devil Ira think before you say anything", he replied staring into her soul "I don't care if I fall in love with a devil, as long as that devil will love me the way he loves hell", she said maintaining the eye contact "Your angel eyes see the good in a devil 𝘮𝘪 𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘳", he strolled towards her with long steps "And the sweet little angel couldn't keep her eyes off the devil", she titled her head sideways when he grabbed her neck harshly yet carefully not to hurt her but "You are fucking impetuous and daring, a little too bold and way too fucking fearless. "So... what about us?" he asked, and I looked at him, a bit bewildered. "What?" I inquired. "You and me... what are we, Sera? You know how you affect me. You make me feel like I'm losing my mind, and I feel incomplete when you're not around. I yearn for your touch, your scent, and everything about you drives me wild," he admitted, his words close to my face. I let out a shaky breath as I felt a warmth spread through my body. "Thad, I think you're getting something wrong," I began, but he interrupted me. "No, you're the one refusing to admit that you're feeling the same way I am," he insisted, causing me to fall silent.
