The Cosmopolis

For Josik, a 21-year-old inhabitant of a mega-space station known as Terra 2.1, life in the 28th century is dominated by rigid routine and the Authority, the lone regime on this representation of humankind's ultimate triumph over nature. Still, he has wondered about how life would be on the vibrant planet down below. Josik's lifelong desire is finally achieved--but he finds that Earth is far from the paradise of his dreams.
