Saving Sunjae (Lovely Runner Fanmade)
"Saving Sunjae" follows Jasmine Lee, a 25-year-old woman whose life was changed by a tragic accident that left her unable to walk and took her parents' lives. Once full of joy, Jasmine has become withdrawn, feeling lost and disconnected from the world around her. Her only source of comfort comes from the music of Ryu Sunjae, a beloved singer whose voice helps her cope with her emotional and physical pain. However, Jasmine's heart breaks again when she hears of Sunjae's death by suicide, a devastating end to a young life filled with promise.
Sunjae's death sends Jasmine into a spiral of grief. She clutches onto a cherished memory from years ago when she met him briefly in a hospital. At that time, he was kind to her, offering a small gesture of warmth that left a deep impression. His death feels personal to Jasmine, as though she has lost not just a star but a part of herself.
As she weeps for Sunjae, something incredible happens: Jasmine is mysteriously transported 10 years into the past. She awakens to find herself in her teenage body, back in her old bedroom, at a time when she could still walk, and her parents are alive. Disoriented and overwhelmed, Jasmine initially questions whether she is dreaming, but soon realizes that this is her reality.
With this second chance at life, Jasmine grapples with mixed emotions. On one hand, she is overjoyed to see her parents again and to feel the ground beneath her feet. On the other, she is haunted by the knowledge of their impending deaths and her own future struggles. Most of all, she can't stop thinking about Sunjae.
