undergoing 1st round developmental edits!! When Edith, an overworked college student goes no contact with her parents, she must find a way to financially support herself while she gets her degree. She enters a writing competition in which the winner gets a book deal. When she struggles to write the violence in the slasher novel she decided to write, she turns to drastic measures for inspiration. After all, you should write what you know... a/n: hi guys!! this is an (incredibly) rough first draft of what originated as a project in my Creative Writing class. We were given the school year to write an original novella, and this is mine! I've grown really attached to the plot, but at my current writing skill, I don't think I could've properly gotten the point across in the time I was given. I'm publishing it here both to share it with my friends and to hopefully find proofreaders! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Please don't! No, don't do it please! No, please, I am begging! Not again please. They didn't listen. They didn't. They kept on doing it over, over and over again. They were like a blood-curdling spoilt alarm clock signal repeating itself endlessly. There was actually no end. My tired baggy eyes slowly fluttered open. Everywhere was moving in a gradual wobbly pace. I felt dizzy. My head was banging and banging relentlessly like a popcorn machine. Nauseating flashes of familiar faces covered up in grisly blood popped up in my terrified mind. I immediately gagged as a result. My stomach churned as the flashes slowly became more vivid. "Oh, you're awake? That good for you" A deep, yet falsely gentle, voice pierced through my turmoil. "Care for another round?' he said giving me a sinister smirk. "No please. I can't take it anymore! Just kill me please!" I said while wet flow of tears ran through my cheeks. Warning : This book may contain suicidal thoughts, torture scenes, trauma, gore, bloody scenes and lots of deaths.

I raised up the knife with full force and dragged it close to my neck. I was about to slice it but a soft pleading voice inside me cried. This is the first time I'm attempting suicide. Normally, a thought like this would never cross my mind but what happened the day before is enough for me to jump into a well. Death is inevitable but it came too soon.. I take a deep breath I didn't know I was holding at the driver's side door swings open and a very pissed off Axel steps out. "Thank god," I mumble and place my hands on my knees to catch my breath. "Blaze?" He says and I hate it. I hate how he says my name as if it's his. Like he knows it's the only thing I want to hear, him calling out to me, looking at me, focused to me. It's the first time in my life I wanted someone's attention so badly I didn't care how I got it. And that was too dangerous for me to hold onto. "Are you insane or some shit? I could have killed you!" He says and starts to walk towards me. I take a big breath and step back away from him, "s-stop! Axel," I stutter still panting. It's then he notices the blood on my hands and shirt. "Is that blood?" He asks staring at my shirt and I take another step back. "Stop, stay b-back," I try to say confidently but I can't even breath right. Realizing he won't listen I start to turn around planning to make a break for it. "Don't run from me Blaze it won't go well," he growls reading my thoughts causing me to freeze in my spot. "Do not ever think you can get away from me."Complete

My hand slaps against my mouth as I try to shut myself up. Don't make too much noise...or he'll hear you. A vehicle's door opens then slams shut. I don't hear footsteps...but as the minutes go by I begin to hear them; the footsteps get louder and louder and louder, matching the sound of my thundering heart. That's when I see his shadow cast over the ditch...over the place where I tried to hide. "Well," he says with a smile in his voice. "I wonder where he could've gone...the footprints stop here...so I wonder if he just...disappeared?" My body begins to tremble. I can feel it now. The pain. I can feel the pain already. He jumps down into the ditch...he stands directly in front of me, with his back facing me. My hand presses harder against my mouth as I try to suppress my whimper, but it's way too late now. But his body tenses up when he hears it. He laughs bitterly as he turns around slowly, and his eyes cut through my camouflage easily. "There you are."Complete
