The Ghost of You

I saw him across the bustling street, a flash of dark hair and a smile that stopped me in my tracks. He was the owner of that little cafe, I later learned, but in that moment, he was just... breathtaking. Something about him, the way the sunlight caught his hair, the way he laughed with a customer, reminded me of someone I'd lost years ago, someone I'd never truly gotten over. It was a painful, beautiful echo. Now, every day feels a little brighter because he's there, behind the counter, making delicious food and unknowingly weaving himself into my life. I find myself drawn to him, to his warmth, to the feeling of a connection I didn't expect, and I'm terrified and exhilarated all at once. This unexpected encounter might just be the sweetest, most heartwarming thing to ever happen to me.
