J Kesler, a Marine born and raised in Los Angeles and deployed to the Middle East, is in Tokyo on leave before being deployed again.
But as he arrives a "gate" appears in the middle of Ginza. People wearing Roman-like armor and fantasy creatures appear and start slaughtering everyone in sight.
He uses his training and quick wits to help drive off the threat. Until a JSDF and Marine Corps QRF drive off the surviving invaders back.
J, along with one Yōji Itami, are commended for their heroic actions and deployed into the now dubbed: "Special Region" with J as a military attaché and liaison to the JSDF forces.
