The Crown Trials is a royal competition in which 24 Iridis suitors from each of Heliac's Royal Academies compete for the title of Heliac's guardian and the hand of the apparent heir to the Golden Throne in marriage.
Willow Aldwyn is an Iridis blessed with the powers of an Air Wielder but has spent most of her life trying to escape it by hiding amongst the First-Bloods. But hiding comes with a price. With each passing year, her powers grow stronger and wilder until the fateful day when she's pushed beyond her limits and unleashes her destructive powers during a visit from the king and his son. Astonished by her untamed powers, the king obligates her to join the Trials, posing as an ordinary suitor while secretly being taught how to manage her intense abilities. But the Trials prove to be far more complicated than Willow could have expected.
