I bent over from the lack of oxygen, resting my palms on my thighs as I tried to catch my breath. 

"Now do you believe me?" Jacks voice rang above me. 

I looked up and gave him a pointed look, too busy trying to get air into my systems to talk.

Once I felt rested, I took a deep breath and straightened up, looking at Jack, who was slightly panting.

He held out his hand for me to take. I looked up at him as green eyes met blue and I felt a wave of emotions I never knew even existed wash over me. 

I flickered my glance between his outstretched hand and his stare, and slowly but confidently entwined my fingers with his.

I looked up at him and took a deep breath.

"Just keep me alive, Anderson"
