Ji Hye's father, Song joong ki, was banned from his own kingdom for being together with his werewolf wife. the kingdom was then taken over by his evil sister, song ji hyo.

song ji hyo wanted joong ki dead, in order to secure her throne. She thus sent people to kill him and his family.

Joong ki was killed, along with his wife. however, she didn't realise that they had a daughter, which was Ji Hye.

Ji Hye, after witnessing her parents' death, was taken care of by her father's good friend, amber and her group. after a few years, she was forced to move in with exo, her new guardians.
