Why was that the question that everyone was asking me? Why did everyone want to know when everything changed? Who were they to assume this wasn't how it was in the very beginning? In all honesty, even I didn't fully know the answer.

Kali Brangwen was completely satisfied with her average life. She spent her days hanging out with her childhood best friend and living completely carefree. Nothing could go wrong for her.
Until she realized she had fallen in love with him.
After a heated night between the two, she realizes that not only has their relationship changed, but so has the rest of her life.
Because she wakes up the next morning with superpowers.
Kali's world quickly begins to fall apart as she tries to live up to everyone's hero expectations, and tries to figure out where her powers came from. And as her best friend pushes her to be everyone's hero, it drives a wedge between the two as he doesn't see how she is breaking down.
And she's not sure how long she can stay the hero when there's evil slowly growing in her veins.
