Alternate Prolog for the Breath of the Wild Storyline. (in-game storyline spoilers)
Link is corrupted by Calamity Gannon. He goes on a rampage, blinded to everything he loves by the blight within him. Zelda and Mipha , connected by destiny and their mutual love for Link, hatch a desperate plan to purify him and just maybe save hyrule from utter Calamity.
Trigger warning: this is a dark story. there will be elements of abuse, torture, possible themes of gaslighting, sexual assault, and rape. any depictions of violence of any kind in this is purely fictional. Violence in all its forms in real life is reprehensible and to be condemned.
This is a fan parody and all Characters, likenesses, locations, Etc. from the game "Zelda: Breath of the Wild" are the Property of Nintendo Inc and Monolith Soft studio. Mipha: A Champion Rises
What if Mipha was rescued from Ruta and used her last ounce of strength to heal a dying Link at the Shrine of Resurrection, then was placed in the shrine instead? When Mipha awakens 100 years later with no memory, she must play the role of hero until she can free Link and Zelda. This story is loosely based on a plot by Peregrine of the Zelda BOTW Modding Discord channel, who is actively developing a game mod called Mipha's Grace released in 2025. I Love You, Always Forever; A Medieval Zelink Story AU
Zelink AU Medieval Fanfiction Zelda, currently Princess of Hyrule wishes to see the world outside of the castle. Her father expects her to marry one of the chosen suitors to prepare Hyrule's next King, but she doesn't like the sight of any of them. Link is a Hylian knight with a tragic past. Being secretive and closed off is how he prefers to live. He has a quest he believes he must do alone-to find his older sister. But Hyrule is subject to an unknown danger, within itself. How will the mystery unfold and how will Zelda and Link achieve their dreams? I don't think I'm super great at medieval writing...(knowing the time period, vocabulary, descriptions, etc...) but I tried anyways! Sorry for the unappetizing description. But I think I write stories better than I write summaries I promise haha... ~Clean and appropriate for most ages~ There will be some minor blood and other descriptions that may be disturbing for young people. Although the goddess had first planned to have the hero do his journey alone, she took sympathy for him and decided to create him a partner, one that would aid him during the dangerous travels to the Divine Beasts and finally, Calamity Ganon. That was your purpose. 100 years passed since the defeat of the Champions, although one remained. The one you were to help once he awoke from his slumber. Trial of the Zora Armor
For years, Zora princess Mipha has harbored romantic feelings for a certain Hylian Champion, even to the point of handcrafting a set of armor with extreme significance to her culture in hopes he felt the same. However, she soon realized how friendzoned she was when Link announced his engagement to another, Princess Zelda of Hyrule. Unwilling to destroy such a symbolic item of her people, Mipha's wishes turned to repurposing the armor as a gift of alliance. But with surmounting political pressure within Hyrule Castle, what started as the thought of a simple proposal had become extremely difficult; especially after learning something about Zelda shortly after the unrecognized marriage. With the omens of the coming Great Calamity happening more and more frequently, supporting her long-time friend and soon-to-be-ally, his newlywed wife and their kingdom just might require Mipha to rededicate herself to fighting battles for a man who would never love her back. In modern day Hyrule, Link is an orphan who lives in an orphanage. Because he is meant to be the Hero of Hyrule, his bunkmates get jealous and bully him for it. When Link enters first grade, he befriends Zelda, the most beautiful girl in Hyrule, and eventually falls in love with her. The two become inseparable, but everything changes when Zelda hits puberty; she vanishes and doesn't show up at school. Link tries to contact and find her, but no luck. Five years later, Link is a 16-year-old man with severe depression and a Hero chosen by the Master Rifle. He is still in love with Zelda and thinks about her every second of his life. One day, Link saves a woman from the Yiga clan members, and that woman turns out to be Zelda. She tells him about where she has been for the past five years, and once Link finds out the truth, he dedicates his days to helping Zelda feel safe and happy again away from her selfish, rich father Rhoam and her forced fiance, Ganondorf. While Link and Zelda try to save themselves from the abuse, an evil prince from another country declares war on Hyrule in hopes of annexing the kingdom, and Link must go to war, leaving Zelda. (Currently being remastered with extra dialogue/details + improved story structure.) Nearly a month's time has passed since Ganon's demise and life in Hyrule can now resume without any fear of invasion. Zelda is finally crowned as queen of the kingdom, giving Link the time and rest he desperately needs. With all this said, Link can't shake the fact that their victory came with a price that cost him his dearly beloved, Mipha. Unable to bear the burdened thoughts any longer, he seeks for a way to reunite with his lost love, even if for a moment.
