This was not what Zenitsu expected.

He originally took part in the Kamado Royal family's tournament to prove his Gramps and himself that he wasn't useless, that he properly knew how to use his breathing technique. 

However, he came to learn, a bit too late, that the prize wasn't exactly a trophy or money, but a marriage to one of the members of the royal family: Tanjiro Kamado.
