When you're starting your life over, you can't afford to make the same mistakes you made in the past.

It's 1998 and Alexandra had come to California to be closer to her daughter and start a new life completely different than the one she'd left behind. Finding herself smack in the middle of L.A.'s decadent music scene certainly wasn't part of the plan, but neither was falling for rock's heir apparent Dominic Wild. Will she make the mistake of falling for the wrong man again, or will Alexandra end up finding a kindred spirit whose love will erase the heartbreaks from both their pasts?

Somewhere Between Chaos and the Ocean Sam Parker didn't plan for her life to look like this-freshly dumped, unemployed, and floating somewhere between who she was and who she's supposed to be. The only thing steady in her life is the band, the music, and the way the ocean feels at night when everything else stops mattering. She spends her days chasing gigs with the three boys, dodging questions about the future, and relearning how to be happy in a life that looks nothing like she imagined. Relearning to trust, in a world that taught her not to. But maybe that's the point. Maybe happiness isn't something you plan for. Maybe it's in music and art and beachs and love. All kinds of love. In the midnight drives with no destination, in the people who show up when everything else falls apart. Maybe she's exactly where she's supposed to be. But her seemingly obsessive ex boyfriend seems to be lurking around her life, trying to make it a living hell. **** "But that's just life, yeah? what about the future. Do you not want a family of your own?" Matty asked. "What, you want a wife and kids?" I asked, amused. Matty Adler. The boy notoriously known as a ex-badboy who slowly grew into this emotionless, righteous guy? A wife and kids seemed like the last thing he'd want. "Hell yeah I want a wife and kids," He said. "I want that normie mundane ass life. I want two daughters and I wanna spoil them rotton," He smiled "Wow never chalked you off for a wife and kids kinda boy Matty," I said, inhaling the cold air of the night. "That's the life Sam. When people have nothing going on and they're still happy. The small things are enough to keep em going," He said. "You don't believe in chasing highs?" I asked. "I think there's a time and place for eveything. I think everything's an experience, but the end goal has to be some slow boring life in a small town." I nodded. ****

Sydney didn't have much, but that was fine with her. She didn't need much. Growing up on the Washington coast in a lonely beach town, working quietly behind the scenes was what she was good at. Living on the beach was much less glamorous than most people imagine. Her home was a beat up old Winnebago that she had shared with her father until he passed. Her father had been a detached parent. He loved his daughter of course, but he was by no means an affectionate man. She had grown up fending for herself, working backstage at a bar that hosted live bands using a fake ID. After the death of her father she saw an ad for a guitar technician for a local Seattle band. A love of rock and roll had been the one thing that her and her dad had in common. Selling everything that she didn't need she packed up her pickup truck and travelled north to the city, leaving the sleepy town in her rear view mirror. She didn't expect to embark on what would become the adventure of a lifetime. For someone who had hardly left the town she grew up in, the opportunity to get paid to travel the country and listen to great music was a dream come true. The band became her family, and life on the road was a perfect fit for her. Chris Cornell instantly became Sydney's best friend in the whole world. They were in love, that was plain as day to anyone who paid attention. Yet, sometimes love isn't as simple as it should be. Sometimes, love hurts. Georgie had no choice in whether she moved to live with her dad or not. Her mom's latest stint in rehab meant she had few options to pick from, and so, to Sunny Cali she went. How bad could it be? At the very least, she'd have her best friend and older cousin, Alex, to hang out with over the summer, and she'd finally get to meet his bandmates. The summer of 1994 would snowball into one of the biggest and most important summers of Georgie's life. She'd make lifelong friends, make bonds that she'd never have made in North Carolina, and fall in love with the most amazing boy in the world. She never imagined she'd only have one year with them... ∞༺🖭༻∞ || when you see this, it indicates that POV is switching [ this is a fanfiction based on characters from the Julie and the Phantoms universe, Luke Patterson, Alex Mercer, Reggie Peters and Bobby Shaw/Trevor Wilson are not characters of my own, however, I will be putting my own spin on them.
