They're supposed to follow one practice after the age of 16. After the Claiming, a ritual where a young witch decides to follow White, Black or Green magic, the newly claimed witches further their practice in their fields at Grendlewood Academy. Kieryn Blaclan was different than all the other witches in history. At the night of her Claiming she was visited by Hecate for her to choose her path. Her decision left her alone and prone to chaos in her search of her magic.
She looked up into Hecate's glowing golden eyes that reminded he so much like an owl and said with a clear voice, "I follow my own path and the path of the gods."
She didn't understand how much her life would change after muttering that sentence.
