Maurice Claveria (portrayed by: Lee Chaeryeong) came from the famous family of Claveria which was well-known for its dominance over the country's pharmaceutical industry, and investment management industry. At a young age, she was already enlightened about how their businesses go, and trained to handle them in preparation for her future.

She was given almost everything. She had all the attention, comfort, and luxury, typically: the life that one could wish for. However, she was not given one thing, and that was freedom. Her future was already planned and secured by her parents, even who her partner in life would be. It was all done independently, without the consent and knowledge of Maurice.

One day, Maurice was informed by her parents that she will be married with the son of their family friend who is also a top shareholder: Alessandro Morillo (portrayed by: Kang Taehyun). In an attempt to make the two get along well with each other before the date that has been set for their marriage, the parents have hired a well-known marriage counselor, namely; Alexa Rivera (portrayed by: Shin Yuna).

But then, Maurice found herself falling for Alexa instead.
