Sakari has been living in Republic city for the last 10 years. Ever since she got to Republic city her biggest dream is to become a probender. Unfortunately, she is just one step short and is an understudy instead. Another shortcoming is the fact that she is a dual bender. She bends the elements water and earth, which seems impossible seeing as the Avatar is the only one who can bend more than one element.

During her journey to become a real probender she runs into the probender Bolin who is apart of the probending team "fire ferrets". Not only does she run into Bolin, but she also runs into Avatar Korra. She builds a tight friendship between Korra, Mako, Asami, and Bolin. Together they fight the equalists, but at what cost? Will the team fall apart? Will they all lose their bending? Will Republic city fall into Amon's hands or can Sakari stop all of it from happening...
