The life of 6-year-old Chloe changed forever when she received her diagnosis for retinitis pigmentosa, a degenerative eye disease that left her permanently blind. After her diagnosis, Chloe's childhood was mostly filled with darkness and anger, her only wish being to gain back her sight. On her twelfth birthday, she received a seeing eye dog, Echo. As her first friend and only way to perceive her surroundings, the bond between Chloe and Echo become extremely close, so close that one or the other will be willing to give up their life to save another.
