Her mum and her live with her mum's mum an one day she gets back from school and her mum is gone and her grandma never really tells her what happened other than she left and doesn't want to be found and she won't be coming back. She obviously misses her mum, but the hate over rules the longing as she just left.
A few years later her grandma ends up in hospital and this leads to her being taken into care and living with a crazy bunch of people. she has a long twisting journey.
