Swipe left. Swipe left. Swipe left. Divert gaze from Tinder to work laptop. 180 unread emails. Proceed to answer half of them. Accept at least another 30 Zoom conference call invites - all of which I know will be a waste of time. Divert gaze back to Tinder. Glug some wine. Realise I've already drank nearly a bottle of red... Swipe right. Swipe right. Swipe right. ------- This is pretty much the life of Rhea. Yep, Rhea like the Greek goddess Rhea who was 'the mother of Gods'. But also like Rhea: the silent, flightless big birds distantly related to emus and ostriches. She doesn't know which one she identifies with more. Probably the latter. Rhea always knew what she wanted, from the specific tailoring of outfits her Barbie wore when she was 6, to the specific Penthouse apartment she wanted that looked over at the London skyline when she was able to afford it as an adult. As soon as she graduated university, her goals were simple: top notch career, big bucks and endless amounts Jimmy Choos to strut around in. She focussed all her efforts into this, and at just 27 years of age, she was promoted to be be the youngest ever Managing Director at leading Technology firm, Adorno Tech. With this milestone however, let's not forget what didn't happen during this time for Rhea. Like all the forgoing of all the other priorities other people in their twenties might have...like having actual fun, partying, travelling, new adventures and experiences...dating. Now she's 30, and at a point where all her best friends are in long-term, committed relationships, buying houses or getting married, and generally excited about life. But here she was, for the first time in her life, not knowing what she wanted to do next and how she wanted to go about her next chapter. This is Rhea's attempt at Navigating Life. "Tell me. Why won't you tell me?" He asks and I look towards him slowly, "You didn't even talk to me until yesterday! I'm trying to make it so nobody notices me, Kingston. I don't need this." I say and he slowly turns my face towards him, closing my locker and pinning me up against it. "What if I need you?" He asks and I roll my eyes. "Nice one, Hamlet." I say, walking away from him. One of the perks of being short, easily get away from tall people. ❤︎ IF YOU WANT A BETTER BOOK W A SIMILAR VIBE: check out My Evangeline on my page! wayyy better written (I was prob 12 when I wrote this) and a good story! ❤︎ Kingston Brag is the blonde haired popular guy with baby blue eyes, he's the guy every girl wanted.
