This story is from Thomas' perspective. Thomas and Owen are father and son, they have rarely any money and are trying to make some because their mother/wife is pregnant again and they need to be able to buy food and have a nice home for the baby to grow up in. So Thomas and Owen decide to go and capture whale oil and sell it. But along the way, a whale that was thought to be extinct appears and Owen and his crew (including Thomas) try to capture it but it all goes downhill. Everyone ends up falling in the ocean, whilst there are a storm and a very angry whale. Thomas and Owen, manage to swim over to a nearby island. No one knows that they are out there except Jane. Everyone else aboard the ship was thought to be dead. But that's until Thomas, Owen and Daphne hear noises. They feel like they are suffering endlessly and think they are stuck there that's until....
