Living in the Suburbs somewhere near heartache and the edge on insanity, is James Hudson. James' parents are divorced and he had lived with his father since he was 7. That all changed when his dad met Elaine.
His mother, fresh out of rehab, wants James to visit and maybe and live with her for the summer, but he has shut her out of his life completely.
Although he never saw his mother, he was happy with his dad. But things took a plunge for the worse: James was bullied to the point that he changes who he is completely, and his father, with a new woman in his life, moves him out to a suburban neighborhood, where he has not a single friend.
Unable to escape the pain and heartache He feels, James seeks refuge with his odd new neighbor, Samantha. Sam makes James happy, She is independent, Smart, brave, outgoing and an all around “Sparkly” person. But even Sam has her secrets, and sometimes, no matter how hard you try, problems just don't go away so easily.
