Everyone on the DreamSMP had a 'hybrid' animal counterpart that was merged with their DNA. Ranboo the Enderman, and Technoblade the Piglin, to name a couple. To everyone, Dream was the only one without a hybrid. He banned the End so no-one could kill the dragon. A hybrid is easy to spot, as they usually have body parts that correspond to their mob, which cannot be safely removed, though many have tried. Feeding the animals, tending to the small farm, gathering wood and all those tiny things. But one day, he doesn't come home. Techno waited, but the immortal stayed away. So he decided to go look for him in the surrounding forest, scared that he might have gotten ambushed or, the more likely option, got distracted by something again and just forgot to come home. Yet when he did manage to locate him, he didn't quite look... human anymore.
