A boy whose home was taken from him seeks freedom. A mindrenderer with dangerous hands hopes to undergo his own redemption arc. 

When Cole was younger, his mother told him about the men who played at being gods. Self-righteous, arrogant fools who stole his people and used their wicked mindrenderers to take away their free will. And as he got older, they nearly took away his mind, too.

Alistair didn't like his job. If it were up to him, he would've discarded the part of him that made him a mindrenderer years ago. Perhaps then he wouldn't have hurt so many people. 

When the pair are forced together after a failed assassination attempt, they discover they might have to put aside what they know about each other in order to survive.
Or kill each other in the process.

Afzal, a Vampire who's boring as fuck. But that's for the plot. He feeds with his bestfriends, and does nothing but lay on his bed, and ponder about his boring lifestyle. But, when he's forced to go to the CrossWorld University, he realizes that there are a lot of diverse supernatural attending that school. And one guy in particular interests him. One that includes a trip to the past and uncovers a lot of what led their relationship to this point, and possibly move it forward. ~ ~ ~ This is a story I wrote for a competition with the prompt. "Focus on one chapter of a much more complicated and longer story" so it's pretty short, but I really enjoyed trying a new writing style and it was actually quite good for my skills. Sebastian - a White Wing soldier by birth, believes without the current government it would be chaos, and that the rebels should be taken out. When the two meet and are forced to work together, who knows what will happen to the government, and everyone caught in their crosshairs.
