My bare feet pounded on the forest floor, snapping twigs and leaves as I went. The howls surrounded my being, my heart racing fast, faster, beating harshly against my chest. He'd caught me unprepared. My arrows sprawled helplessly across the greenery behind my house were long forgotten, my life was at stake. Suddenly, I was questioning how I'd chosen to spend my days. Not the way many people would, I suppose. I hadn't had family to love, for they had been murdered by his kind. He was evil, but I guess stooping to his level, killing hundreds of innocents, made me evil too.
