Genetic enhancement is rampant in the society that Nyx lives in, and everybody is obsessed with superficiality. She is Enhanced, but she never chose this life. Now that Nyx is pregnant, her husband wants her daughter to become Enhanced. Nyx is desperate to do anything, even risk her life, to prevent this from happening. She takes this chance to escape her society and make their own life on the Outside where they should be safe. Elira is on the run from a dark force that's been pursuing him from ages. When he is nearly captured by these people, horrifying truths are revealed and his entire world shifts. Will he be able to confront his fears and stop this unknown entity or die trying? - This is a story that's full of angst and takes some dark turns (at least I hope so), Elira goes by El, Ells, and Elli, as well as some fake names. He is at least somewhat aware of us, the reader, and acknowledges us often, that's why he takes explains things with oddly, making a comment or two about how he should've known you wouldn't know that thing.
