What do you think happens if Duryodhana finds out about Karna's identity before the start of the war? Even though Karna himself doesn't know about his own birth secret  as Govind never told him.

One of them swore off the war to protect his brothers, another swore to destroy any seeds of war and the third was left confused when there was no target to point his bow at.
