Princess Ayla Frazier has it all. A loving family, a royal title, servants at her beck and call and even a man to sneak around with. 

The only thing she doesn't have is freedom.

Locked up in the castle and kept a secret from her people, Ayla has never even met a person from outside the palace walls. She's been sheltered by her parents to protect their one and only child and is kept away from the public eye. The only sort of "freedom" she has is the secret training sessions with the Captain of the Royal Guard.

Her picture perfect life is changed when she catches thief Raphael Covington in the act. 

To save him from a death sentence, she assigns him community service, only for her father to assign him as her personal bodyguard. With their intense dislike for each other ever present, it's only a matter of time before one kills the other.

In a story full of sweeping dances and drawn swords, Ayla will have to choose between the good of her country and a sarcastic and cocky bodyguard she can't get rid of.
