Kiyotaka Ayanokoji has finally obtained freedom, although it's only for 3 short years. As he gets lost thinking about what he wants to do, he becomes troubled. He wants to become ordinary and enjoy his school life, but what does it mean to be ordinary? He has no concept of it. Is it to live out his days as a nobody, completely enveloped in the uneventfulness of everyday life? Or perhaps it is to live each day to the fullest with friends and loved ones?
Ayanokoji is at an impasse and doesn't know what to do. So he turns to the one man who he believes can answer his important question, the one man he believes that in time, he can grow to respect.
